How to display TFS user on "Assigned To" area on the card?

Jun 12, 2012 at 1:53 PM

We are sometimes assigning specific user for the task before printing out the task/bug/issue type of card. We are currently writing the name manually on the card, but sometimes it is useful to print the card with the name already. Can it be done?

Hi kari1208,

I think you are right. On some of templates we write 'Assigned to:', but we do not write the name. That could be changed in a future release. Just out of curiosity - what report template do you use?

Hi mrtn,

As far as I understand your question, there are 2 report templates currently available and we have not still understood the difference between those :). Probably there is a difference between Report and Basic report. It is just after the new update the Assigned To text is partly hidden as it moves too close to the right border line.

But in general, this would be useful tool actually. It is just you will have to think about the method of how to differentiate the need to either show the AssignedTo on the card. Probably a diffeent report type would do the trick.

Generally, you need to add a new data field binding, like the following code, in the appropriate Template.xaml, depending on which report you're trying to customise:

<TextBlock DockPanel.Dock="Right" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Text="{Binding Path=WorkItem.Fields[Assigned To]}" FontSize="11pt" Margin="0" />
